Thank you for showing interest in my adventure to eSwatini and my important fundraising efforts. I am thrilled to say this is my FOURTH Crossroads mandate in the last 15 years. 

I am volunteering my skills, knowledge and services with Bantwana, a eSwatini non-profit that works to help prevent HIV and empower young girls and women. I recruited two other Salesforce volunteers to join me, who are technical developers, a skill that is very difficult to recruit for international development volunteering. In addition to supporting their IT challenges, we are working with the local team on building a marketing strategy to improve awareness of the great work that Bantwana does within their communications.

Bantwana eSwatinis' work is incredibly important, with over 36% of the population living in poverty and over 27% of the overall population living with HIV. Females between the ages 14-24 are particularly vulnerable and are 3xs more likely to contract HIV than males. Not only do young women have health vulnerabilities, but they are often impacted by domestic violence and kept in the cycle of poverty.
